Platja Sota del Parador is a very small, quiet cove-style beach with a relaxed, local feel. At only about 30 metres long and quite narrow, it feels intimate rather than busy or touristy. The shore is made of fine gravel rather than sand, and it’s framed by a few pine trees, giving it a slightly rugged, natural character.
For swimming, it’s generally pleasant but not perfect for everyone. The water is usually clear and clean, which makes it great for casual swimming and especially for snorkelling—the seabed has posidonia (sea grass), attracting marine life. However, the entry into the sea has a moderate slope, so it gets deeper fairly quickly, which is fine for confident swimmers but less ideal for very small children.
Conditions are typically calm to moderate, similar to nearby beaches like Grifeu, but it lacks facilities such as lifeguards or services, so you need to be a bit self-sufficient. Access the the beach involves clambering over rocks from Grifeu beach which usually means it is uncrowded.
Overall, it’s best suited to people who enjoy peaceful swimming in clear water rather than sandy lounging. If you like quiet spots, snorkelling, and a more natural setting, it’s excellent—but if you want soft sand, shallow water, or full amenities, it may feel limited.
