Les Carboneres Beach is a small and peaceful beach located on the southern side of the coastal town of Llançà, along the scenic Costa Brava. The beach stretches for roughly 150 meters and is characterized by its mix of coarse sand, pebbles, and rocky areas. Surrounded by low cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation, it has a more natural and quiet atmosphere compared with the larger beaches nearby.
Access from the costal path (Cami de Ronda) is quite difficult, there are some concrete steps to start but when these finish you have to climb or scramble to reach the beach.
The clear waters and rocky seabed make Les Carboneres particularly attractive for swimming and snorkeling. Because the beach sits in a small bay that offers some protection from the strong northern wind known as the tramontana, the sea is often relatively calm. The underwater landscape of rocks and small reefs supports marine life, making it an interesting spot for visitors who enjoy exploring the sea.
Les Carboneres Beach is also appreciated for its relaxed and local feel. It lies close to residential areas but still maintains a tranquil environment, especially outside the busiest summer weeks. Visitors can reach the beach easily by foot or by car, and nearby coastal walking paths allow people to explore other coves along the coast toward the natural landscapes of Cap de Creus Natural Park.
