Platja Sant Jordi is a small, quiet beach on the Costa Brava, known for its relaxed and uncrowded atmosphere. At around 95 metres long and quite narrow, it feels more like a hidden cove than a large tourist beach. The setting is semi-urban but still peaceful, with a natural feel and views of the surrounding coastline.
For swimming, it offers generally pleasant but slightly varied conditions. The seabed slopes moderately, meaning the water deepens gradually but not as slowly as on very shallow beaches, so it suits both casual swimmers and those comfortable in deeper water. The sand is medium-grain and sometimes mixed with small stones, so wearing water shoes can make entry more comfortable.
The water is typically clean and clear, as is common along this stretch of coastline, and summer sea temperatures range roughly from 19°C in June to about 22°C in August—comfortable for swimming without being overly warm.
One of its main advantages is how quiet it is compared to nearby beaches, giving swimmers plenty of space and a more relaxed experience. It’s also popular with dog owners, which adds a friendly, informal feel, though it may not suit those seeking a completely pet-free environment.
